Your photos remind me a lot of the landscape of the Michigan town I grew up in, called Grand Ledge, after its sandstone river ledges. I miss that fall color!
I think there's a lot of similarity in the Midwestern landscapes, but some places are a little more dramatic than others. I live in karst territory, with soft limestone making lots of caves and extremely steep hollows. Southern Illinois, where my husband grew up, has a lot of the same, except not--they have these huge rocks. And then we went to Ohio (Hocking Hills) and it felt a lot like southern Illinois, except MORE. It really is fun to see what is similar and what is different in different places!
